Lenawee County Veterans Received $78,746,000 Last Year
During the fiscal year that ended September 30, 2023, data shows that 5,723 veterans resided in Lenawee County, with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) expenditures totaling $78,746,000. Of this total, Lenawee County veterans and their families received $38,306,000 in service-connected disability compensation, DIC death compensation, veteran’s pension and survivor’s pension benefits; $2,046,000 for educational & vocational rehabilitation benefits; $329,000 for insurance and indemnities; $38,066,000 for medical care expenditures with 2,166 unique patients who received treatment at a VA health care facility.
Lenawee Tree Lighting
Join us for the Community Tree Lighting on Monday, December 2nd as we officially kick off the holiday season and light up the Community Christmas Tree on the front lawn of the Old Court House. The event kicks off at 6:30 PM, with the tree lighting at 7 PM. We look forward to seeing you there!
Lenawee Community Collection Event a Success
Working at the event to haul tires from resident cars and fill the waiting semi-trailer were residents from Lenawee County’s Maurice Spear Campus. These youth were excited to be a part of the event and to have the opportunity to earn some money.
